15. International Trade Fair for Bakery Equipment & Food Ingredients
With an annual economic growth between 6 and 7 percent within the last years, Russia belongs to most stable and dynamic economies in Europe. Private consumption is still growing and spezially the Russian food processing industry is developing fast. The investment in imported machinery and equipment for these industries grew by 27 percent in 2007.
From 2003 to 2007 the Russian imports of food processing and packaging machinery increased by 105 percent and amounted to 1.8 Euro billion. With a market share of 40 percent Germany is the most important supplying country for machinery and equipment in Russia.
In the field of machinery for the production of bakery and confectionery products the Russian imports amounted to 235 Euro million in 2007. Over 40 percent of these machine imports comes from Germany.
For the German manufacturers of bakery machines and ovens, Russia has been the most important export market for years now. Most of them can look back on a long tradition of doing business in Russia and are represented by agencies or subsidiaries. The Russian market for baked products is still growing spezially in the high quality product segments and the demand for high-tech and customized solutions is still high.
To reach potential business partners and to strengthen existing contacts it is necessary for German companies to be present in Russia. An outstanding opportunity for that is the participation in fairs and exhibitions. For that, VDMA requested for the second time an Official German Participation for the Modern Bakery, the most important international exhibition in this field in Russia. 26 companies will present their products and services at the German Pavillion of the Modern Bakery 2009.
